Clerk stabbed during Okotoks gas station robbery, suspect sought by RCMP
On September 20, 2013 at approx 8:00 pm, Okotoks RCMP responded to a complaint of robbery at the Fas Gas on Northridge Drive in Okotoks.
A single male suspect driving a black pickup truck pulled in to the gas pumps and filled his vehicle with fuel. He then proceeded into the store, where he wandered through out. The clerk was behind the counter, when the suspect approached him and stabbed him once in the abdomen. The suspect then fled the scene in his vehicle, heading westbound.
The suspect is described as 25 - 30 year old caucasian male, 5'7 - 5'8, medium build, dark curly hair, short full face beard, wearing a brown hoodie. The vehicle is described as a black pickup truck, possibly a Chevrolet Sierra.
The victim was transported to Foothills Hospital for treatment.
The investigation is still on going.
UPDATE: A gold car left the Fas Gas approx. 7:50 pm heading southbound on Northridge Drive.
Police are asking the driver of this vehicle, and anyone that was at the Fas Gas between 7:30 and 8:00 pm to contact Okotoks RCMP at (403) 995-6400 or (403) 938-4202.

Two injured as result of collision near Stony Plain
Stony Plain / Spruce Grove, Alberta - This morning shortly after 09:30 am, Stony Plain/Spruce Grove RCMP officers were call to attend a two vehicles collision on Hwy 633 at the intersection of Range Road 33.
A small pick up travelling northbound on Range Road 33 had stopped at the stop sign at Hwy 633 and then proceeded as a westbound gravel truck and trailer unit was travelling westbound on Hwy 633. The 79-year-old male driver of the pickup and his 9-year-old female passenger were injured as a result of the collision. Both driver and the female passenger were taken to the University of Alberta Hospital by STARS air ambulance and are in serious condition.
The driver of the gravel truck was not injured.
At the time of the collision the weather was clear and sunny and there were no obstructions at the intersection.
Alcohol or drugs are not suspected to be a factor in this collision and the investigation is continuing.
Theft of Gas Powered Air Compressor near Two Hills
On September 21st, 2013, Two Hills RCMP responded to a theft complaint north of Two Hills, AB.
Between 11:00 pm the night before, and 4:00 am on the morning of September 21st, a gas powered air compressor was stolen from a rural property on Range Road 121 near Highway 36. The compressor had a black Honda motor, two 5 gallon air tanks, and a wheel attached in the front. The compressor was taken from the back of a pickup truck that was parked inside an unsecured building. A black colour woman's shoe and a Canadian Club cigarette butt were recovered from the scene, as well as 'waffle' style shoe prints observed.
Two Hills RCMP asking for the public's assistance in identifying person(s) responsible for the theft. The public are also encouraged to call immediately regarding any suspicious activity, especially in the overnight or early morning hours. There were fewer traffic collisions and injuries on Alberta’s roads last year, according to Alberta’s 2012 traffic collision statistics.
Compared to 2007, when Alberta’s Traffic Safety Plan was introduced, fatalities have declined by nearly 25 per cent from 458 fatalities in 2007 to 345 in 2012.
When compared to other provinces, Alberta’s fatality rate is lower than most. In 2010, the most recent year for which these statistics are available, Alberta had the third-lowest fatality rate in Canada compared to the sixth highest rate in 2007.

- Number of injuries decreased by 364 or 2 per cent
- Number of fatalities increased by 32 or 10.2 per cent

- Number of drivers climbed by 62,412 or 2.2 per cent
- Number of vehicles grew by 127,392 or 4 per cent
- Traffic volumes on the numbered highway network rose by 6.41 per cent
