Organized crime groups use funds obtained through the sale of marihuana to fund other illegal activities which pose a threat to our continued health and well being. Marihuana trafficking harms communities. Wherever it exists, there’s the potential for an increase in criminal activity and a greater chance of violence on top of additional economic costs and other health and safety risks. There are many individual and community health and safety concerns with the existence of marihuana trafficking in our communities. Dangers include: drug impaired driving, drug endangered children, violent home invasions, decreased property values along with other additional economic costs and other health and safety risks.

Those who traffic in illicit drugs destroy lives, homes, and communities. The RCMP remains fully committed to enforcing laws against illicit drugs to their fullest extent.
