RCMP seeks public's help to locate 20 year old Samson First Nation woman
On December 14, 2013 Jessica Wyoma Boysis, 20-year-old Aboriginal female of the Samson First Nation, was reported missing to the Maskwacis RCMP detachment. Jessica Boysis was last seen by her father on December 6, 2013 when she left her residence. Information suggests that Boysis was seen at the Subway Restaurant on the Samson First Nation on December 11, 2013.

Jessica Boysis is described as 168 cm, 52 kg, with black hair and brown eyes. She also has a tattoo of two teardrops on the left side of her face.

Rig site vandalism and theft southwest of Eckville
Sylvan Lake RCMP are seeking the public's assistance with identifying the suspects responsible for a serious vandalism and substantial theft from a service rig site South West of Eckville, Alberta
Sometime during the night of December 13th or early morning of December 14th, the suspects entered the well site and broke into a service rig and adjacent shacks which were on site. The suspects stole fuel as well as numerous tools from the site. Most concerning however, is that the suspects also vandalized the rig in a manner which caused major components of the rig to become unsafe for the employees who arrived on site the next morning to start work.

RCMP seek public’s help in finding 600 head of cattle
The RCMP is asking for the public’s help in locating in excess of 600 head of cattle related to an ongoing criminal investigation into thefts and fraud committed by Timothy William FLAD, age 47, of Brownsville, Alberta.
On the 5th of September 2013, FLAD was convicted of Cattle Theft over $5,000. in St. Paul Court of Queen’s Bench. His conviction was the result of a joint investigation by Provost RCMP Detachment, "K" Division Livestock Section, the Livestock Identification Services Inspectors in Alberta, the Saskatchewan Agriculture Livestock Inspectors and the RCMP Detachment in Spiritwood, Saskatchewan.
FLAD sold cattle that were financed without notifying the lender that he had disposed of the assets. He was sentenced to 1 year probation and 100 hours of community service. A Restitution Order was given requiring him to pay back $12,000.00 to the lender for the 40 head that he had sold illegally.
FLAD had previously been convicted at trial in Wainwright, Alberta of Breaching his Judicial Release conditions relating to the charge of theft of cattle. He was sentenced on September 10,2013 to a $3,500. fine, and 2 years of probation with conditions.
The “K” Division RCMP Livestock Investigation Section in Alberta continue to investigate these matters as there are in excess of 600 head of cattle still unaccounted for by FLAD.

Suspect sought after gas theft in St. Albert
On December 13th, 2013, at approximately 10:10 a.m., an unknown male was fueling his black Dodge 4x4 truck at the Gate Way Petro Canada gas station in St. Albert, Alberta. After the male finished fueling, he got back into his truck and drove away without paying.

Around 7:45 am on Saturday, December 14, RCMP received a call of a break-and-enter in progress at the "Community Learning Centre" in Stony Plain.
Police arrived within minutes, locating no one within the building. There was an enormous amount of damage to the Centre, including smashed computers, two destroyed "Smart Boards", and a water fountain pulled from the wall.
A witness was spoken to, and details ascertained relating to the suspect. When police received a call of an intoxicated male in the area, they apprehended the male and utilized Police Dog Services to track back to the Learning Centre.
25 year old Grant BUTLAND of New Brunswick has been charged with: Break and Enter, Assault, and Mischief over $5000.
He was remanded into custody, and will appear in Stony Plain Provincial Court on Wednesday, December 18.
RCMP Canmore Weekly Media Release December 9th to the 16th, 2013
On December 9th, 2013 in the early morning hours, a number of storage units were broken into at a compound in the industrial area of Canmore. It appeared that suspects cut the locks off the storage units and took articles from inside. A number of household goods, sporting goods, and an off-road motorcycle were taken in the thefts. The Canmore RCMP continues to investigate.
On December 16th, 2013, Canmore RCMP received a complaint from a Canmore resident that she had received a call in which the caller stated that he was the complainant’s grandson and that he was in jail. The grandson’s lawyer then got on the phone with the complainant and advised that they required money to be sent through wire transfer to assist the grandson. The lawyer claimed he was calling from Banff. The complainant became suspicious when the lawyer had very limited knowledge of the Bow Valley area, and that he asked for the money to be sent to Nicaragua. The complainant did not send money, and reported the incident to police. The RCMP reminds people to be vigilant when dealing with unknown callers, and to never send money under suspicious circumstances.
During this holiday season, drivers are reminded to celebrate responsibly and ensure they are not drinking and driving. Police will be continuing Alberta Checkstop operations throughout the holidays in an attempt to keep our streets and roads safe for all.
During this period the Canmore RCMP also responded to 21 calls for disturbances, arrested and charged one impaired driver, issued 2 roadside suspensions for drivers who had used controlled substances, and dealt with over 40 driving complaints and infractions.

Impaired Driving Event held in Wood Buffalo
Over the past weekend, Wood Buffalo RCMP along with their partners including the Fort McMurray Integrated Traffic Unit and Victim Services conducted numerous check stops in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo.
Officers and their partners beared the frigid weather and over 3 nights stopped approximately 1400 vehicles. The focus of the check stop was on positive reinforcement and to provide education to vehicle occupants about making wise decisions when it comes to alcohol consumption and driving. The enforcement side of the event lead to 6 arrests for impaired driving, 7 warrant executions, 10 drivers licence suspensions and approximately 25 violation tickets.
The Wood Buffalo RCMP is reminding drivers to stay safe on the road and ensure that they always have a designated or sober driver.
RCMP Red Deer City investigate Armed Robbery
On December 15th, 2013 at approximately 3:30 a.m. two Caucasian males believed to be between the ages of 18 and 24 years entered the North Hill Express 24 located on 71st Street in Red Deer. One of the male suspects brandished a knife and demanded cash. Both suspects fled with an undisclosed amount of cash in a gold colored van. No one was injured during the robbery.

The Innisfail Charity Checkstop took place this past weekend and due to the generosity of the community it was our most successful yet. A total of $11,630.57 in cash and cheques were raised which is $2,000 more than our previous best. Additionally over 4 and a half truck loads of toys, 2 truck loads of clothes and 775 pounds of food were also donated by the citizen's of Innisfail and surrounding area.
In this season of giving and celebrating we are proud to provide as much help as we can to those less fortunate.
The charitable organizations that the money and items will be provided to are the Innisfail Food Bank, the Christmas Bureau, Women's Outreach Society and Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Innisfail.
Innisfail RCMP would like to thank the following local business's for providing donations: Nestle Purina, CO-OP, 7-11, A&W, Dairy Queen, Subway, Tim Horton's, Innisfail ESSO, McDonalds, Innisfail Bowling lanes and the Innisfail Legion.

Former Royal Bank of Canada employee sentenced to 3 years for fraud
An investigation by the RCMP Serious and Organized Crime Unit in Edmonton has resulted in the conviction of a former Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) employee. Michelle Sparrow, age 42, defrauded RBC of over $1.1 million during the course of her employment with the bank in Hinton, Alberta between May 2001 and August 2007. She used a sophisticated scheme involving the manipulation of over 75 personal, business, loan, and credit card client accounts. Funds were misappropriated from existing and fictitious RBC clients.
On February 28, 2013, Michelle Sparrow was charged with three counts of Fraud Over $5000 and one count of Theft over $5000. On November 27, 2013, she was convicted in Hinton Court of Queen's Bench on two counts of Fraud Over $5000. She was sentenced to three years in jail and ordered to pay restitution to RBC in the amount of $926,019.73.
Indus Careless Use of a Firearm investigation
On December 15, 2013 around 17:00 Hrs, Strathmore RCMP responded to a complaint of Careless Use of a Firearms in the area of Indus, Alberta. It was determined that a residence had been struck by a bullet, which had entered the living area of the residence, and came with in approximately 10 feet of an occupant. Witnesses in the area identified hearing numerous gunshots through out the afternoon prior to the incident occurring.
Police are seeking the assistance of the public for information which would aid in the investigation, specifically for information regarding unknown person(s) shooting firearms in the area of the Indus Airfield, on Highway #22X at Range Road 282.
