Municipal Animal Control Bylaw Enforcement Campaign

Due to increased bear activity, The Municipality of Crowsnest Pass is commencing with an enforcement campaign effective today September 24, 2014. Residents are reminded that as per Bylaw 864, 2013 Animal Control Bylaw Section 9.1 "No owner or occupant of a premises shall place, store, permit or dispose of Animal Attractants outdoors in such a manner that they are accessible to wildlife."

"Animal Attractant" is defined to mean: food, or food waste, compost, other waste or garbage, a carcass or part of a carcass of an animal, fish or other meats.

The fine for a first offense is $250, the second offense in 24 months is $500 and the third and subsequent offenses in 24 months is $750.
