Hit and Run Mischief to Memorial Pillar in Fort Macleod
Sometime during the night of Wednesday November 13th and early morning hours of Thursday November 14th, 2013 suspect(s) driving an unidentified vehicle drove into and knocked over a memorial pillar dedicated to Hugh C. Craig who was a prominent businessman and long time citizen of Fort Macleod. The suspect(s) drove along a pedestrian walkway across from the Fort Museum in Fort Macleod and knocked over the stone pillar onto the adjacent roadway.
Police are investigating this crime as a mischief to property and are seeking public assistance. Anyone that may have witnessed this mischief is asked to contact the RCMP in Fort Macleod with their information or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
Mischief to horse trailer in Fort Macleod
On October 22, 2013 the Fort Macleod RCMP received a complaint that between the dates of October 20, 2013, and October 22, 2013 a horse trailer parked in the town pastures had been broken into. The trailer appeared to have had the window broken by a rock and had been entered. Nothing appeared to have been taken but the RCMP would like to remind everyone to park in well-lit areas to help deter people from damaging your items.
The RCMP is investigating this incident as a mischief and is seeking public assistance in identifying any suspects. Suspicious behaviour by stranger reported by Grande Prairie boy
The Grande Prairie RCMP would like to make the public aware of a suspicious incident that occurred on November 12, 2013 in the Country Club area of Grande Prairie.
Yesterday, at approximately 8:05 a.m., a nine year old boy was walking to school from his residence in the Country Club area. While walking, he alleged that he was approached by an unknown male suspect driving what was reported to be a black van (possibly a mini van) with tinted windows. From inside the vehicle, the suspect asked the boy if he would like some candy and instructed him to get inside the van. The boy immediately fled running directly to school. The boy did not report the incident until early yesterday evening when speaking to his parents. Thereafter, the police were immediately contacted.
The male suspect is described as caucasian, in his late 30's, skinny, having a goatee. He also may have had a scar on his right cheek and a tattoo on his left hand.

Dangerous Motorcyclist removed from QEII by ITU
On November 14th, 2013 at approximately 1:30 pm, officers from the Airdrie Integrated Traffic Unit were conducting speed enforcement on Highway #2 north of Airdrie, Alberta.
A motorcycle was observed traveling north bound at an extremely high rate of speed. Due to the high speed of the motorcycle, officers were unable to catch up to the motorcyclist until he became caught up in traffic near the Olds overpass. At that time, the motorcyclist observed the officers, quickly pulled over, jumped off the motorcycle and attempted to flee on foot.
Officers were able to quickly catch up to the 24 year old male from Calgary, Alberta, taking him into custody without further incident.
Prior to pulling over, the motorcyclist was not aware that officers were attempting to catch up to him.
The investigation is continuing and numerous criminal and traffic charges are pending against the male.
Robbery In Dickensfield
Earlier today at 7:30 a.m. Wood Buffalo RCMP responded to a complaint of a robbery that had just taken place at the Shell gas station in Dickensfield. RCMP attended along with the Police Dog Services.
The initial investigation reveals that a Aboriginal man entered the Shell at approximately 7:30 a.m. and demanded money from the till. The employee preceded to hand the suspect an undisclosed amount of money before the suspect fled the scene. No weapon was produced and no injuries were sustained during the incident.
The suspect is described as a First Nations male, tall, stocky, wearing a black jacket.
The investigation continues and police are asking anyone with information to contact the Wood Buffalo RCMP. Further information will be release as it becomes available.
RCMP officers confirm found remains of Valentine Degenhardt
On November 11, 2013, during a ground search of an area approximately 65 kilometers northwest of where Val Degenhardt's vehicle was found, the RCMP Specialized Tactical Operations team (STO team) have located what appeared to be human remains. These remains were sent to the office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Edmonton and it was confirmed today, that they are of British Columbia missing person, Valentine Degenhardt.
Information about the location of the remains were acquired through investigative efforts conducted by the RCMP Major Crimes unit with the assistance of other RCMP support units.
Mr. Degenhardt's vehicle had been located by hikers approximately 200 kilometres northwest of Edmonton, off highway 32 between Whitecourt and Swan Hills, Alberta. Hikers had alerted the police of this abandoned vehicle unsuspecting its origin.
Valentine Degenhardt's family were notified that their loved one's remains have been located.
RCMP Red Deer City Investigate Armed Robbery
On November 13th, 2013 at approximately 10:34 pm a lone male entered the Glendale Express 24 located on Greenham Drive in Red Deer, brandishing a knife. The suspect immediately went behind the counter, threatened the employee and demanded cash. The employee complied with the demand and the suspect left with an undisclosed amount of cash and a carton of cigarettes. The suspect fled on foot; the direction of travel is unknown. No one was injured during the robbery.

Missing Fort McMurray man located
The Wood Buffalo RCMP can confirm that Sawler has been located safe and sound and wish to thank those who assisted with the investigation. The Wood Buffalo RCMP entered into a missing person investigation when it was reported on November 11, 2013 that Robert Sawler (58) of Fort McMurray had not been seen since November 7.
Hunter's vehicle shot multiple times in Sentinal day use area near Turner Valley
Shortly before 11:00 AM, Saturday November 9, 2013 Turner Valley RCMP received a call from Alberta Conservation Officers, reporting mischief to a vehicle at the Sentinal day use area. The owner advised he was out hunting in the area. When he returned to his vehicle he noticed what he believed to be multiple bullet holes in it. Police attended and examined the vehicle. A lead fragment which resembles part of a bullet was seized from within the cab of the vehicle.
At this time police are looking to speak to anybody who was hunting or camping in the Sentinal Day use area on November 8 and 9, 2013. Specifically police are looking to speak to a couple who were camping in the area on those dates. They are described as early 50's, with a 2001-2006 Chevrolet Silverado truck, greyish brown in color and towing a 20-24 foot travel trailer. The Sentinal day use area is located approximately 60 kilometers south west of Turner Valley on Highway 541.
Leduc RCMP Requesting Assistance in Identifying Fire Starter
On November 8th, 2013, at approximately 3:25 p.m., The Leduc RCMP were dispatched to assist the Local Fire Department with a fire at the Wal-Mart store in the Leduc common area. RCMP, Fire and EMS attended and insured the fire was extinguished and that the area was confirmed safe. During the course of the investigation, RCMP learned that the fire had started in the sporting goods section and was contained to a small area. Witnesses noted seeing 2 teenagers in that area of the store just before the fire started.. The first was a Caucasian male, wearing a darker colored winter coat (possibly black), dark colored pants and carrying a back-pack. The second was a slender Caucasian male, approximately 5’6” to 5’ 8” tall with brown hair, wearing a black ball cap, a short navy blue jacket and blue jeans.
At this time, the RCMP is still investigating this incident and would like to ask the public to notify them if you have information about this fire, or the identification of the 2 suspects.

Leduc Male Arrested For Breaking into CIBC
On November 10th, 2013, at approximately 1:30 a.m., The Leduc RCMP received a complaint of a male that had broken into the CIBC bank in Leduc. RCMP immediately attended the scene and located an intoxicated male that witnesses identified as the man responsible for the break and enter. The man had smashed out the window glass between the bank and the ATM machine and gained access through that point. RCMP arrested 23 year old Terrance Leblanc from Leduc Alberta for the Break and Enter and for failing to comply with his probation order from a previous occurrence.
Mr. Leblanc will appear in Leduc Provincial Court with the date pending.
Vehicle Thefts in Leduc Over November Long Weekend
On November 11th, 2013, the Leduc RCMP received several calls of stolen vehicles. A 2013 black Dodge Ram was taken from 51 St. and 43 Ave at 3:32 a.m. At 10:44 a.m. a white 2004 Ford f350 was taken from 46 Ave and 50 St. and 11:37 a.m., on Shores Drive, the suspects attempted to steal another vehicle but were approached by the vehicle owner and fled the scene.

Arson in Airdrie
On November 10, 2013, at approximately 03:30 a.m., Airdrie RCMP assisted by RCMP Police Dog Services and the Airdrie Fire department were dispatched to the Highway 2 Bar and Grill on Edmonton Trail S. in Airdrie, Alberta, for a suspicious fire. Investigators determined the fire was caused by arson.
The Airdrie fire investigator attended and determined the fire had been ignited from multiple locations within the establishment. The business was closed at the time the fire was reported and no one was harmed during the incident.
The estimated damage to the building is totaled at $200,000.00 CAN. at this time.

Still photos have been obtained of two male suspects from the Arson reported on November 10, 2013, at Highway 2 Bar and Grill on Edmonton Trail S. in Airdrie, Alberta. The first male is seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with a Black toque, a Black Helly Hanson jacket, dark jeans and tan boots. The second male is wearing a Black balaclava over his face, dark jacket and has dark jeans.
