Accident near Maycroft results in multiple injuries


A multiple vehicle accident occurred on Highway 22  today, September 10, 2013, at approximately 12:20 pm.  Pincher Creek Emergency Services was called to the scene at approximately 12:45 pm. The accident happened approximately 8 kilometers north of the Oldman River Bridge near Maycroft.  The incident involved a car containing a driver and a passenger and a pickup truck with one occupant.

All three people involved in the accident required medical attention.  One patient was taken to Claresholm General Hospital, one patient was taken to Pincher Creek Hospital, and another was taken by ambulance to intercept with STARS ambulance at Longview, and was transported to Calgary.

Emergency Service crews managed traffic during the incident.  A number of different agencies attended, including Pincher Creek Rescue and Ambulance which transported one person to Pincher Creek Hospital, Crowsnest Pass Emergency Services, which transported one patient to the waiting  STARS helicopter, and Lundbreck Fire, which responded with an engine.  Claresholm also responded with three vehicles including a rescue vehicle, a pumper, and an ambulance which transported one person to Claresholm General Hospital.  RCMP also attended the scene.
