More vandalism to vehicles in Fort Macleod
On October 16, 2013 the Fort Macleod RCMP became aware of damage that occurred to eleven vehicles at a local Chrysler Dealership. Since that date several other reports of similar mischief have occurred to another dealership, a garage that fixes vehicles and private vehicles that had been parked along the roadway within the Town of Fort Macleod, Alberta.
The damage to the vehicles are random in nature and seem to be the work of possibly one or two individuals that are traveling around the Fort Macleod community during the late and early morning hours. Police are encouraging citizens and business owners to be aware of the incidents and to keep your vehicles parked in well lit areas. If you see suspicious persons in the late evening and early morning hours out walking around seemingly aimlessly or in areas that no one should be near at the time of day please call 911 and advise.
Unlike previous mischiefs in the area the culprit(s) this time are damaging the vehicles for fun and not for profit. The Fort Macleod RCMP and the Citizens on Patrol are working in conjunction to address this issue and are working to bring a swift end so that no further vehicles will be damaged.
Mischief is a serious criminal crime punishable by high fines and incarceration.
The Fort Macleod RCMP asks that anyone with knowledge of these incidents, please contact the Fort Macleod RCMP Detachment at 403-553-7200 or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS)

Vegreville man injured in motorcycle vs truck collision
Shortly before 4:30pm on Friday October 18, 2013 Vegreville RCMP came across a collision which had just occurred at the main intersection of 50 street and 50 avenue in Vegreville, Alberta.
Vegreville Fire and Ambulance arrived and transported a 30 year old Vegreville man to hospital with bumps, scrapes and bruises. Witnesses say the male was riding his motorcycle westbound on 50 avenue when an Eastbound Ford pickup truck made a left turn in front of the motorcycle. The rider applied his brakes, laid the motorcycle down then ran off the roadway and out of traffic. The motorcycle slid into the side of the truck causing damage to both. Luckily, the rider was released from hospital later with only a few stitches.
Constable Curtis Harsulla of the Vegreville RCMP says," Traffic was quite heavy at the intersection at the time of the crash. It looks like due to the motorcyclist's quick thinking it appears that sacrificing his bike may have saved him some serious injuries."
This matter remains under investigation, but police have ruled out alcohol and speed as contributing factors.
