The Nature Conservancy of Canada will be joining the Municipality of Crowsnest Pass and the Crowsnest Conservation Society to host a day to get rid of invasive plant species, or weeds, on Saturday July 26. Community members are invited to volunteer for the day and help conserve the area while keeping it beautiful. Volunteers are asked to bring a reuseable water bottle and weather appropriate clothing, and wear closed toe shoes. Tools, gloves, and lunch will be provided, and there will be an educational aspect to the morning to make sure everyone is familiar with the weeds. The group will meet at 9:00 am at the convergence of the Nez Perce Creek and Crowsnest River at 81 Street and 13 Avenue in Coleman.

The 3 host groups: The Nature Conservancy of Canada, the Municipality of Crowsnest Pass, and the Crowsnest Conservation are looking for volunteers for the event, everyone is welcome. Nature Conservancy Volunteer Coordinator Kaley Setter would like to see people come out to this. "There is power in numbers, and we want to keep building on this," she said. Each of the groups have individual weed pulls throughout the season, and hope that by joining forces even more work will get done. Their big target this year is blueweed and thistles.
