Livingstone-Macleod MLA Pat Stier has made an appearance before Crowsnest Pass Council.  He wanted to hear council's major issues.  Mr. Stier is now Transportation, Sustainable Resource Development, and Infrastructure and Municipal Affairs critic for the Wildrose party.
Stier said there are issues he's familiar with, such as seniors facilities, health care, and conservation and environmental concerns.
Bill Kovach asked if there were any finances available other than taxpayer dollars for operating back country rescue.  Dave Filipuzzi asked if there was any more funding available for the York Creek Lodge expansion. Doreen Glavin also wanted more money, for the repair and maintenance of the Adanac and Satoris roads.
Mr. Stier did urge council to become involved in the AltaLink proposed power line.  He urged the public who may be affected by the line to raise their concerns at the upcoming open houses.  He said at some point there comes a time when enough is enough.  He added the lines can have a negative impact on tourism.  The open houses are scheduled for Cowley on the 10th and Lundbreck on the 11th.
